About us
During the 90’s the range of shipbroking services was enhanced with the addition of tanker chartering, ship repair representations, ship valuations, market research and consultancy. The company’s growth was strongly driven by the support of clients, talented brokers and the adoption of pioneering IT technology and maritime information systems.
In 2003 Intermodal relocated from Piraeus to North Athens and further expanded its range of activities by gaining global exposure and access to new clients, financial markets, international contacts and shipyards.
In the early 2000s Intermodal recognized the emerging opportunities from the upcoming shipbuilding dynamics in China. Ever since, the company has negotiated and concluded numerous shipbuilding contracts providing its clients with a compass in the uncharted field of Chinese shipbuilding.
In January 2005 Intermodal established its Shanghai Representative Office aiming to provide its global customers with superior services, accurate information and competitive new building solutions.
Throughout the years, concurrently with the growth of the Asian market, the Shanghai office has expanded its operations to serve a wider and more sophisticated local demand. Second hand sales, project chartering, demolition, research and valuations are now offered from both shipping centres where Intermodal serves its business partners.
During 2008, Intermodal moved its headquarters to its purpose-built premises, in Kifissia, Greece. By combining the latest technology with the service of our talented and ambitious personnel, our team always strives to maintain the status of a world-wide leading shipbroking house that offers a complete spectrum of shipbroking services.
In 2011 Intermodal formed a historical merger with N. Cotzias Shipping Group, the oldest shipbroking house in Greece established back in 1893. This strategic move enabled Intermodal to provide a broader range of complementary services to an even larger network with a greater capacity to face any future challenges, by including worldwide Port Agencies, Harbour Towage and Salvage with the goal to effectively provide a “one-stop shop” shipbroking experience.
